Ski Snowboard America points skiers to their perfect resort
The all-new SkiSnowboard America helps skiers find their dream resort because deciding where to spend a winter vacation is more than a basic equation of room cost, number of lifts and vertical drop.
Ski area brochures claim every resort is perfect for everyone, says author Charles Leocha, We all know that isnt true.
Some resorts are perfect for families with children, others cater to singles. Some feature tiny inns and hotels, others are filled with condos. Some challenge expert skiers, others make beginners and intermediates feel comfortable. And some are quiet and romantic hideaways while others are filled with party animals and pulsing discos.
SkiSnowboard America and Canada is a complete guidebook. It provides all the information to make intelligent choices and the phone and fax numbers to make reservations and plans. For over a decade SkiSnowboard America and Canada has provided no-holds-barred, brutally honest reports on reality at ski resorts. It takes no advertising, has no ax to grind, and is written by Leocha together with an international team of prize-winning ski and snowboard journalists.
The writers let skiers know whether the resort is a cluster of condominiums clinging to a steep slope or a traditional mountain village exuding old-world atmosphere and whether they should pack a sequined gown or simply bluejeans for the nightlife. They also give a no-nonsense, accurate, and dependable rating of the ski terrain.
SkiSnowboard America and Canada includes expanded up-to-date coverage of more than 100 resorts in the U.S. and Canada. New snowboarding sections describe the slopes from a boarders point of view. Readers will learn about cross-country trails surrounding the resorts as well as details about current prices for lift tickets and ski school programs, complete children and day care programs, and recommendations about lodging, dining and nightlife.
This edition includes new snowboarding coverage of virtually every western resort in North America. It also has new chapters on Silver Mountain and Schweitzer, Idaho.
During the past decade Skisnowboard America and Canada has become the uncontested bible for anyone planning ski vacations. Recommended by virtually every major publication that writes about skiing, no other guidebook provides a picture of the personality and detailed descriptions of so many North American resorts.
Ski America and Canada retails for US$24.95.
